Rob Koelewyn says his first reels for Blue Marlin are just the tip of the iceberg. He told Angling International:

“In joining Blue Marlin I will be in the company of real fishermen who understand the business and know what customers want. I am looking forward to facilitating and helping to grow Blue Marlin with unique and stand alone products. I will be putting the emphasis on great innovations for additional spinning reels that will be light, strong and durable. Great new titanium pliers are also in the horizon. Price, value and uniqueness will be our watchwords as we show that not only do we have great innovations, but a story to tell about the product, how it came about and the level of thought that went into it.” The first reels off the production line, the BMC/BMJ 60/70/80, feature: Frame and all exterior parts cut from solid tempered 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminium Waterproof 30kg drag system, using eight carbon fibre and stainless steel washers Precision CNC-machined bronze alloy drive gear and stainless alloy pinion gear Heavy-duty dual rotor clutches and 14 high-grade stainless steel NMB Japanese bearings ‘V’ Rail technology slider system for full cranking power at any position of the rotor Floating spool shaft feature supported by two bearings for friction-free rotor rotation Light design crank knob and power handle with optional knob grip caps.
